Financial Controller at Opass Limited

THE ROLE

As the senior financial lead, you will be responsible for the fiscal integrity and operational efficiency of the entire hotel.

Key Priorities Include:

• Reporting & Stewardship: Managing the full month-end and year-end accounting cycles within strict deadlines and preparing all P&L, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements.
• Operational Control: Supervising Income Audits, monitoring F&B cost percentages, and conducting regular spot checks in high-risk areas like bars and kitchens.
• Compliance: Ensuring 100% accuracy in filing all Nigerian statutory requirements, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and Pension.
• SOP Enforcement: Establishing and maintaining rigorous Standard Operating Procedures to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Professional Certification (MANDATORY): Must hold ICAN (Preferred), ACCA, ACA, or CPA.
• Experience: 5–7 years in accounting, with at least 3 years specifically in Hospitality Finance.
• Soft Skills: You must possess the professional courage to challenge department heads on spending and the resilience to remain calm under intense audit pressure.

THE 90-DAY CHALLENGE

In your first three months, you will be expected to standardize the closing process, implement stricter inventory controls, and provide a 12-month financial roadmap for the hotel.
