Finance Officer at Akesis Health Nigeria (AHN)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Processing financial documentation, including invoices and payment, after appropriate authorizations.
• Assists in maintaining of proper control of the supporting documents for payments and financial reports.
• Handle staff/vendor's enquiries relating to payments. Liaise with vendor for appropriate documentation required for their payments.
• Maintenance of the proper filing system for finance records and documents.
• Monitor and follow up for timely settlements of outstanding advances, payments due from staff according to the Organizational financial policy.
• Prepare various periodic financial reports as needed for proper management of financial resources.
• Support the Finance Manager in educating staff on policies and procedures in compliance with donors' requirement.
• Act as liaison between the Organisation and pension fund administrators.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• A Degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
• At Least 5 years experience in accounting and finance with minimum of 3 years in an NGO
• A good understanding of Finance Systems, Generally Accepted Accounting Practices, Taxation, and Accounting Controls.
• Capacity to take initiative and to work in teams.
• Ability to meet deadlines, to multitask, and to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Knowledge of Dynamics Great Plains would be an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
