Fiber Splicing Technician at Reime West Africa Limited

Job Summary

• We are hiring Fiber Optic Splicing Technicians to perform fiber splicing and testing on our customer FTTH deployment project in Ibadan.
• The technician will be responsible for ensuring accurate connections, low-loss joints, and high-quality signal delivery through field splicing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing of optical fibers in ODFs, handholes, closures, and cabinets.
• Execute OTDR, power meter, and light source testing after splicing.
• Follow fiber jointing plans, splicing schedules, and color codes accurately.
• Install and organize fiber closures, splitters, pigtails, and splice trays.
• Ensure proper documentation of splice points, fiber routing, and test results.
• Troubleshoot and correct fiber signal loss or mismatches.
• Work closely with the splicing supervisor to meet daily targets.
• Maintain splicing tools and equipment in good condition.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and quality standards during field operations.

Requirements

• Technical certificate or Diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in fiber optic splicing and testing, preferably in FTTH environments.
• Proficient with fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and cleaning tools.
• Familiarity with fiber color codes, fiber routing, and splitter connections.
• Ability to work in outdoor OSP environments ( poles, chambers).
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic reporting and record-keeping skills.
