    Farm Overseer

    Location: Mokwa, Niger

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Train and supervise farm workers – coordinate and direct their activities
    • Supervise a wide range of farm operations including cultivation, sowing, spraying and harvesting
    • Ensures deadlines are met for activities such as seeding and harvesting
    • Confers with managers to coordinate activities with other farm units
    • Monitoring staff rosters, hours, performance and resolving any grievances
    • Oversees the work of farming units and suggests improvements and changes
    • Inspect labor camps and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary.
    • Inspection of food quality and quantity issued to the seasonal workers by the cooking vendors
    • Ensure and enforce compliance with good agricultural practices (GAP) and health and safety
    • Supervise all farming activities, timing and quality standards related to cane production.
    • Execute and supervise farm resources and activity plans.
    • Supervise farm activities and implement continuous improvement measures to ensure adherence to activity standards.
    • Monitor correct use of materials and other farm inputs.
    • Attendance management for seasonal workers
    • Assist Management in monitoring labour requirements into the farm plan
    • Implement continuous improvement practices by monitoring work practices and ensuring that toots and techniques are applied to deliver high quality sugarcane.
    • Develop skills within the team through the job coaching and mentoring.
    • Conduct on the job training and instructions on various farm activities.
    • Report any identified risks to Management.
    • Any other duty assigned by management.

    Requirements

    • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree
    • 2 - 4 years of work experience.
