Fabrication Supervisor at Scruples Resources

• The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating fabrication activities to ensure that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and project schedules. The role involves coordinating fabrication personnel, monitoring work progress, resolving technical and production issues, and ensuring that completed work meets the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day fabrication activities and coordinate assigned fabrication personnel.
• Plan and organize fabrication work in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, work instructions, and project schedules.
• Interpret and work with engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, material specifications, and applicable technical documents.
• Coordinate cutting, fitting, welding, assembly, grinding, preparation, and other fabrication activities as applicable.
• Allocate tasks to fabricators, welders, fitters, helpers, and other assigned personnel.
• Monitor productivity, work progress, manpower utilization, and material availability.
• Ensure fabrication activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to ensure inspection and testing requirements are met.
• Monitor dimensions, alignment, fit-up, tolerances, and workmanship during fabrication.
• Identify fabrication defects, discrepancies, and technical issues and coordinate their correction.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, planning, procurement, and construction teams to resolve work-related issues.
• Review material availability and report shortages or material issues that may affect fabrication activities.
• Monitor the use, handling, and storage of fabrication materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and comply with applicable HSE requirements.
• Conduct or participate in toolbox meetings and pre-job discussions.
• Monitor housekeeping and safe working conditions within fabrication areas.
• Ensure work is completed according to project schedules and required quality standards.
• Maintain daily records of work progress, manpower, materials, and fabrication activities.
• Support inspection, testing, punch-list clearance, and final completion activities.
• Assist in resolving rework and non-conformance issues.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to fabrication personnel.
• Report progress, challenges, resource requirements, and other relevant issues to project management.

Required Qualifications

• HND, Bachelor’s degree, technical qualification, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, Welding Technology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant fabrication, welding, or technical supervision certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, tools, equipment, materials, and safe working practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of welding, fitting, cutting, assembly, and fabrication processes.
• Good understanding of quality control requirements applicable to fabrication activities.
