Experienced Nanny at Xpedient Expatriate Services

Job Summary

• We are seeking a mature, experienced, and well-educated Nanny to provide attentive childcare and structured support within a private household on the Island in Lagos.
• The ideal candidate will be eloquent, emotionally intelligent, and highly reliable, with a proven track record of working in family homes and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships with both parents and other household staff.
• This role requires a stable, proactive, and initiative-driven professional who can provide nurturing care while maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for the child(ren).
• The position is live-out and best suited for candidates residing on or close to the Island for ease of commute.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive daily care and supervision for the child(ren).
• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
• Support the child’s learning, discipline, and personal development.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic, and organized environment for the child.
• Assist with school routines, homework guidance, and developmental activities.
• Monitor and support daily routines including meals, rest periods, and playtime.
• Communicate clearly with parents regarding the child’s progress, behaviour, and needs.
• Work collaboratively with other household staff while maintaining professional boundaries and respect.
• Demonstrate initiative and proactive problem-solving in managing childcare responsibilities.
• Ensure the child’s emotional wellbeing, safety, and comfort at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a nanny or childcare provider in a private household.
• Mature and emotionally stable with a calm and patient disposition.
• Well-educated with strong spoken English and good communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proactive, responsible, and trustworthy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to the Lagos Island / Lekki / Victoria Island axis.
• Verifiable references from previous employers.
• Must reside on the island.
