    Event Coordinator (Food & Catering)

    Our client is looking to hire an event coordinator responsible for administrative duties and coordinating of catering events held in the organization. Additional duties may include assisting with purchasing grocery items, maintaining the equipment and small wares inventory list, assisting with maintaining storage spaces of inventory, sanitation of dishes, equipment, etc., hiring and evaluation of staff. This position will work directly with the guests, clients and homeowners providing the highest level of service, while assisting in the function of groups management, managing event execution, departmental communication and invoicing.
    Responsibilities:

    • Provides leadership for Instructional Assistant of Culinary Arts and student assistants hired for catering/kitchen management.
    • Providing direction, ongoing monitoring, and support to catering department/culinary arts department
    • Coordinates special events/catering between client and food service
    • Establishes catering menus and follows through with client’s satisfaction
    • Recommends event planning and menu design to clients
    • Exhibits fiscal responsibility of the program budget and client’s limitations
    • Routinely prepares and reviews reports to Divisional head

    Knowledge, skills and ability:

    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
    • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
    • Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
    • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations

    Basic Requirements:

    • Must have managerial skills
    • Must have worked with top event planners
    • Must have experience with the food and catering industry.
    • Must communicate well and pass information without any problem
    • Must be able to read and write.
