Role Description

• The ETP Operator role at Springfield Agro is a full-time, on-site position based in Sagamu.
• The ETP Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and controlling the Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. Daily tasks include checking plant parameters, managing chemical dosing, operating pumps and filters, recording operational data, and reporting any deviations or equipment issues.
• The role involves coordinating with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective actions, performing routine inspections and basic troubleshooting, and ensuring proper handling and storage of treatment chemicals.
• The ETP Operator also supports continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant efficiency and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Strong understanding of effluent treatment processes, water chemistry basics, and environmental compliance standards.
• Ability to operate and monitor pumps, valves, filters, clarifiers, and related ETP equipment safely and efficiently.
• Competence in recording operational data, preparing basic reports, and following standard operating procedures.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills to identify and report equipment faults and support maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to health and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks in an industrial environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Minimum of a technical or vocational qualification in environmental science, chemical engineering, industrial chemistry, or a related field; prior experience in ETP or industrial water treatment is an advantage.
