Engineering Manager at Ardagh Glass Packaging Nigeria Limited

Job Summary

• Reporting to the plant manager, successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership to engineering function, encompassing Mechanical Services, Machine services, Cold End Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation, and safety and Environmental roles.
• As a member of the Plant management team, this cross functional role will ensure operational excellence, profitability objectives, customer requirements and driving a safety, quality and sustainability culture within the plant.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages the Engineering function to achieve and sustain operational excellence in fine with performance targets and profitability measures
• Progress reporting of key engineering strategies and maintenance plans implemented, measuring trend against planned objectives
• Builds a culture of performance improvement initiatives through review of processes, systems and standard operating procedures and aligned to Group and legislative requirements.
• Risk management and mitigation of business risk at both macro and micro level.
• Drives the safety, environmental and sustainability culture aligned to legislation and ensuring zero harm to stakeholders.
• Collaborates with melting, production and other services, ensuring that plants operation indicators and resources are optimized.

Requirements

• A formal qualification in engineering or related science degree/Diploma. A professional membership certificate will be an added advantage
• 4-6 years in an Engineering management role in the manufacturing-technical environment-Sound knowledge of the glass operation and processes will be an advantage.
