Job Objective/Purpose of Job:

• To implement Information Technology, as an enabler for Business
• To help ensure the IT strategy, and overall Business Strategy are achieved
• To help Automate Business Processes

Solution Development & Management:

• Develop application code according to business needs
• Ensuring that all applications are developed according to defined business requirements.
• Ensures proper documentation of every aspect of application implementations including setup and maintain records, software updates, and changes to the applications.
• Ensure all development conforms to standard system development life cycle plan in line with agile methodologies and principles.
• Understand and maintain existing windows/web applications.
• Assist in application support for existing applications.
• Ensure documentation of existing application
• Comply with project plans and industry standards
• Performs routine health checks and monitors the performance of business applications.
• Design User interfaces that improve user experience for both existing and new applications.
• Participate in requirements review sessions
• Engage external developers during integration.
• Contribute to the automation of business processes using adopted BPMN tools.
• Manage applications and interface with relevant teams to ensure databases (MS SQL Server and Oracle) are optimal and have integrity
• Facilitates the training of users and development of training materials to bridge knowledge gaps
• Collaborate with both Internal and External Solution Providers in any area where there might be needed to access any of the Database or garner data from the Database in building other applications.
• Any other responsibilities that might be required by the Business / Group Head from time to time.

Education/ Professional Qualification: 

• BSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, and any related discipline from a reputable Tertiary Institution.

Experience: 

• At least one to three (1 – 3) years’ experience in application development.

Key Skills & Competencies Requirements:
Technical:

• Fair knowledge in business process design
• Some experience working in an agile environment
• Some experience building complex web systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines
• Good knowledge of programming languages (VB, C# & Java) and/or critical thinking
• Proficiency in Server-Side scripting languages (ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core)
• Fair knowledge of Web Development – HTML, CSS, Angular, Typescirpt
• Fair knowledge in Systems Network
• Fair knowledge of database queries (SQL)
• Fair in database management (MSSQL, ORACLE etc.) and database query language (SQL)
• Web Services development, Integration and Documentation (SOAP, REST, Swagger)
• Some knowledge of Source Control (GIT, DevOps)
