    Electrical Supervisor

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a highly skilledElectrical Supervisorto oversee electrical installation, maintenance, and safety protocols for construction projects inswampy, waterlogged, ormarine environments. 
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising electrical teams, ensuring that all electrical systems are installed correctly, safely, and in compliance with the project’s specifications. 
    • This role requires expertise in managing electrical works under challenging environmental conditions while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise Electrical Installation:Lead and supervise the installation of electrical systems, wiring, panels, and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with design specifications, local codes, and project requirements.
    • Team Leadership:Manage and direct a team of electricians and electrical assistants, providing guidance on proper installation techniques, safety practices, and troubleshooting.
    • Quality Assurance:Ensure that all electrical work meets quality standards, performs inspections, and verifies that installations are done correctly, with the highest level of workmanship and safety.
    • Safety Compliance:Implement and enforce electrical safety protocols on-site, particularly in hazardous and wet conditions. Monitor team adherence to safety standards, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and handling of electrical systems in waterlogged or swampy environments.
    • Coordinate with Other Departments:Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other supervisory staff to coordinate electrical work and ensure it aligns with the overall construction schedule and objectives.
    • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:Provide troubleshooting and maintenance for electrical systems, ensuring the continuous operation of temporary electrical setups, systems, and equipment on-site.
    • Electrical Testing:Oversee and ensure proper testing of electrical circuits, systems, and equipment. Perform inspections to check for electrical faults, ensuring all systems function properly and meet safety requirements.
    • Project Documentation:Maintain detailed records of electrical work, including system installations, inspections, safety checks, and any changes or modifications. Ensure all relevant documentation is properly completed and available for review.
    • Risk Management:Identify potential electrical hazards, particularly in wet or unstable environments. Implement corrective actions to mitigate risks, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
    • Training and Development:Train and mentor electrical staff on the safe and proper handling of electrical systems, tools, and equipment. Conduct safety workshops and ensure that workers are up-to-date with industry standards and safety protocols.
    • Equipment and Material Management:Ensure the appropriate electrical materials, tools, and equipment are on-site and in good working condition. Manage and maintain stock to prevent delays.
    • Compliance with Environmental Regulations:Ensure that all electrical installations comply with environmental laws and regulations, particularly in wetland or swampy areas where electrical systems must be designed with additional safeguards against water exposure and corrosion.
    • Emergency Response:Develop and implement emergency response plans for electrical hazards, including power outages, electrical fires, and water-related electrical risks. Ensure team members are trained to respond promptly and safely to emergencies.

    Qualifications
    Education and Certification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree orTechnical Diplomain Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • NEBOSH, OSHA, or similar construction safety certifications.
    • Valid electrical certification (e.g.,NIEC,NEC) is preferred.
    • Equipment and Tool Proficiency:Familiarity with electrical testing tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety gear required for wetland or waterlogged environments.

    Requirements:

    • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical supervision, with at least 2 - 3 years in supervising electrical work in swampy,waterlogged, or marine environments
    • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment, including proficiency in electrical schematics, troubleshooting, and installation procedures.
    • Safety Training: Extensive knowledge of electrical safety standards (e.g.,OSHA,NEBOSH) and experience implementing safety practices on construction sites. Certification inElectrical Safetyis preferred.
    • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and supervising a team of electricians, with excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on-site, ensuring work is completed according to specifications and without compromising safety.
    • Environmental Awareness: Knowledge of the challenges of working inwetland,swampy, ormarine environments, including the need for additional precautions when working with electrical systems in moist or waterlogged conditions.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in Wetland or Marine Projects:Prior experience managing electrical work inswampy,waterlogged, ormarine environments, understanding the specific requirements for electrical systems in such terrains.
    • Corrosion Protection:Knowledge of protective measures for electrical systems against corrosion and damage in water-exposed conditions (e.g., use of waterproof casings, anti-corrosion coatings).
    • Project Management Experience:Experience in managing electrical works for large-scale infrastructure projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and scheduling.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions, includingswampy,waterlogged, ormarine environments.
    • Ability to lift heavy electrical materials and tools, perform manual labor, and work long hours if needed.
