Earthwork Supervisor at Asphalt Unity Construction Limited

A construction company based in Lagos Island is seeking a result-oriented Earthwork Supervisor to oversee and manage earthworks operations on our project sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, excavation, and soil management, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate excavation, grading, compaction, and other earthworks activities.
• Ensure the proper handling, movement, and disposal of soil, rocks, and other materials.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of earthmoving equipment.
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers, site managers, and construction teams to ensure project goals are met.
• Conduct site inspections and address any operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of work progress, material usage, and equipment logs.

Key Skills 

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of earthmoving equipment and soil mechanics.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong understanding of environmental and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of excavation, grading, and compaction operations.
• Experience with heavy equipment like bulldozers, graders, and excavators.
• Supervisory skills for managing teams, subcontractors, and ensuring safety standards.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

 Qualifications:

• A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in earthworks, construction, or site supervision.
• Certification in construction site management or occupational health and safety is an advantage.
