Driver at African Industries Group (AIG)

Responsibilities

• Safely transport management, staff, guests, and authorized personnel to assigned destinations.
• Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off while planning efficient routes.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, roadworthy, properly fueled, and well maintained.
• Conduct routine checks on oil, water, tyres, brakes, lights, battery, and other essential vehicle components.
• Report any mechanical faults, accidents, or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
• Observe all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
• Use Google Maps/GPS and knowledge of Lagos routes to navigate efficiently and minimize delays.
• Assist with official errands, document movement, and other transportation-related assignments when required.
• Ensure the security and proper handling of the assigned vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent.
• Valid and current Nigerian Driver’s Licence.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Lagos roads, routes, and traffic patterns.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Good knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of road safety and defensive driving practices.
• Ability to use Google Maps and other navigation applications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be punctual, reliable, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
• Must be neat, well-groomed, courteous, and professional.
• Must demonstrate a high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
• A clean driving record is required.

Added advantages

• Previous experience as a Corporate, Executive, or Management Driver.
• Valid LASDRI Card.
• Defensive driving certification.
• Knowledge of major Lagos business routes and alternative routes.
