Director (Executive Volunteer Position) at Africa of Our Dream Education Initiative (AODI)

Role Overview

• Oversees the strategic and operational direction of AODI, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term vision.
• Manages relationships with the Board of Trustees and provides leadership to all departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership to the organization.
• Oversee strategy development and implementation.
• Ensure organizational compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with funders and key stakeholders to ensure sustainable funding.
• Report to the Board of Trustees on progress and outcomes.

Key Interactions

• Collaborates with the Board of Trustees on governance and strategy.
• Works closely with the Program Manager, Development & Partnership Manager, and other department leads.
• Engages with external partners, funders, and stakeholders to secure resources and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, strategy, or management roles.
• Proven track record in fundraising, partnership management, and organizational leadership.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, including Board relations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
• Experience in overseeing financial management and budget planning.
