The Senior Design Technical officer is primarily responsible for driving the design team which includes the Rover operations, Quality assurance team within the Technical Design Unit.
He is expected to collaborate with Head, Design Technical is in achieving the creation of concepts and designs that balance innovative and sustainable design with the relevant functional requirements from the business unit to the operation.
This is a hands-on role that is responsible for developing and maintaining a motivated staff and achieving design schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and generate new leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and referrals.
Collaborate with Head of Design and supervise the Rover technical team to ensure they work in line with periodic schedules and drafted time scales for technical output with particular focus on the following areas:
Generation of Production Drawings and Details.
Generation of Installation Drawings and Details.
Generation of Cut-lists and Bill of Materials.
To collate all Technical design documents input for technical drawing and cutting list.
To keep abreast of current architectural and design trends and continually aid the design/trend awareness of the team.
Ensure staff adherence to established SOP’s and business policies, especially on quality.
Interface with relevant units and departments on drawing and dimension related issues.
Work with other line managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
Ensure that health and safety guidelines are strictly followed.
Carry out any other responsibility as assigned by management
Requirements
Bachelors in Architecture or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in architecture, interior design, or a related field, with a focus on wood, furniture, and interior design.
Proven experience in leading design teams and managing projects.
Excellent design skills, with a strong portfolio that showcases expertise in wood, furniture, and interior design.
Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
Proficiency in design software, including Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
