    Deputy Project Director

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Project Director across all project workstreams; deputise fully in their absence
    • Lead the management and coordination of all external consultants including structural engineer, MEP engineer, planning consultant, quantity surveyor, and specialist consultants; ensure consultants deliver to programme and scope
    • Own the project risk register; identify, assess, and manage project risks proactively; report to the Project Director and client on risk status
    • Lead the coordination between the Design and Architectural Manager and the Construction Manager to ensure design packages are delivered in the sequence required by the construction programme
    • Manage formal communications with all consultants and third parties, including formal letters and contract notices
    • Chair the consultant coordination meeting in the Project Director\'s absence
    • Support the Project Director in preparation of client reports, presentations, and change order submissions
    • Monitor overall project programme against milestones and escalate emerging delays to the Project Director
    • Manage the statutory approvals programme, coordinating with appointed consultants and tracking submission and decision dates
    • Lead the project close-out process including as-built documentation and project lessons-learned review

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management; postgraduate qualification an advantage
    • Minimum 14 years of experience in the construction or real estate development industry, with at least 6 years in a senior project management role
    • Strong experience in Design and Build project delivery in Nigeria
    • Familiarity with Lagos State planning and building control processes
    • Experience managing multi-disciplinary design consultant teams
    • Membership of a relevant professional body such as NSE, NIOB, NIQS, or NIA is an advantage

    Key Competencies and Personal Attributes

    • Highly organised with strong programme management capability
    • Confident communicator across all levels from site team to senior client
    • Detail-oriented with strong written communication skills for formal correspondence and reporting
    • Ability to coordinate across multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the critical path
    • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to hold others accountable diplomatically
