    Deputy Head of Early Years

    Job Description:

    We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as the Deputy Head of Early Years. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the school's growth and ensuring the continued excellence of our educational programs. As a key member of our leadership team, the Deputy Head of Early Years will be responsible for:

    • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Head of Early Years to develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum that aligns with UK standards.
    • Teacher Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership and support to early years educators, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Quality Assurance: Oversee and ensure the implementation of quality assurance processes to maintain or exceed educational standards.
    • Parental Engagement: Build strong and positive relationships with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and the school's overall educational approach.
    • Professional Development: Support the professional development of early years staff through targeted training and mentorship programs.
    • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans for the Early Years department.
    • Performance Evaluation: Implement effective performance evaluation processes for early years staff, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
    • Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources, including budgets, materials, and facilities, to enhance the learning environment.
    • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with other school leaders, teachers, and external stakeholders to enhance the overall educational experience.
    • Adherence to Policies: Ensure strict adherence to school policies, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Crisis Management: Effectively manage crises or unforeseen situations that may impact the Early Years department.
    • Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to assess student performance and inform instructional decision-making.
    • Innovation and Educational Technology: Stay abreast of educational trends and integrate innovative teaching methods and educational technology into the curriculum.
    • Community Outreach: Engage in community outreach programs to enhance the school's reputation and relationships with the local community.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in a British school, either in England or Overseas (particularly in Africa or Eastern Countries).
    • In-depth knowledge of the UK-based early years curriculum.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to relocate at short notice to Africa.
    • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    • Educational qualifications in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
