    Credit Analyst

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze applicants financial statements and credit data to evaluate creditworthiness.
    • Perform detailed cash flow analysis to assess the repayment capacity of individual and business borrowers.
    • Compare financial metrics and performance indicators against industry standards.
    • Prepare and present credit reports and risk assessments to the credit committee.
    • Recommend loan structuring options based on risk profiles.
    • Monitor loan performance and proactively flag potential default risks.
    • Work closely with relationship managers to ensure the quality of credit applications.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., CBN/MFB frameworks).

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA) are an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Credit Analyst in a microfinance, commercial bank, or financial institution.
    • Candidates residing on Lagos Island or in nearby areas are strongly preferred.
    • Must be willing to resume immediately or as soon as possible.

    Key Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of credit analysis techniques, financial ratios, and cash flow modeling.
    • Solid understanding of microfinance operations, lending principles, and regulatory requirements.
    • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools.
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in analysis and reporting.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple credit evaluations simultaneously.
    • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
