    Country Director Executive Assistant and Business Support

    Background

    GOALPrime Organization Nigeria (GPON) is a National Non-profit Non-Government Organization with a mandate of Making life better for vulnerable children and women across nations. Following the challenges children are facing to have adequate support from social services and institutions to access basic amenities for their growth and development across nations. GPON is saddled to provide complementary support to vulnerable children across nations to attain personal growth and development. GOALPrime Organization Nigeria is presently operating in Northeast Nigeria and FTC where we have reached over 2,000,000 lives (directly and indirectly) with integrated services, we support internally displaced persons with emergency relief materials, Child Protection services, WASH services, GBV mitigation services, Livelihood skill building, Health services, Peace building and Education support services. GPON work in both emergency and development context.

    Who we are looking for:

    We are looking to recruit an intelligent worker with the capacity to function under stress and with a strong knowledge of the English language (excellent writing and speaking skills). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence others, listen well, negotiate, and coach, as well as the ability to establish and sustain relationships and function well in a multicultural and multiethnic setting while appreciating diversity.

    Responsibility

    General and Office Administration:

    • Assists the CD with daily administrative duties and completes a broad variety of administrative tasks that include managing an active calendar of appointments; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, accommodation, itineraries, agendas and compiling documents for meetings.
    • Processing all incoming emails, letters and other correspondence for the Country Director.
    • Keep records of all CD’s correspondence
    • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine enquiries for CD’s approval
    • Read and analyse incoming memos, submissions and reports from CD’s office to determine their significance and plan their distribution
    • Review and follow-up of action points from CD meetings;
    • Support and attend meetings and teleconferences as directed by the Director and produce notes for these meetings and coordinate follow-up activities. These include senior management team meetings, one-on-one calls with Country Directors, quarterly management calls with Country Directors, and country-level staff meetings;
    • Record meeting decisions and ensure regular follow-up on agreed decisions and actions; ensure that the action points have been followed up by the Director and that they are transmitted to the appropriate staff for information or action, if necessary;
    • Conducts research on prospective corporate and foundation donors to identify and evaluate current needs and assembles materials needed for the proposals.
    • Support in drafting reports, letters of solicitation, proposals; prepares and coordinates oral and written communication with donors and prospects.

    Telephone Coverage:

    • Managing all incoming calls to the CD’s Office
    • Screen all calls; Take messages
    • Respond to voicemail messages

    Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge
    Essential:

    • A degree in Business/Public Administration or related field.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in an NNGO/international organization or development organization
    • Fluency in English with excellent writing and speaking skills is required.
    • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including good listening skills, influencing, negotiation and coaching
    • Capacity to build and maintain relationships and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity.
    • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
    • Experience with media documentaries/documentation
    • Excellent dress sense and demonstration of absolute professionalism
    • Ability to work under pressure and over-stretch
    • A smart worker and extra-ordinarily neat.

    Conditions

    Availability: 1.3.2023

    Salary and conditions: In accordance with GPON Terms of Employment. The income will be subject to statutory deductions as per applicable Nigeria laws. The employee is responsible for the tax returns.
