    Cook

    Job Summary

    The Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of high-quality local and intercontinental meals for staff and management within the company’s cafeteria or executive kitchen. The role ensures meals are prepared hygienically, served on time, and meet approved nutritional and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Food Preparation

    • Prepare and cook a wide range of local and intercontinental dishes according to approved menus.
    • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
    • Assist in planning daily and weekly meal menus.
    • Prepare meals for staff, management, and official company events when required.

    Kitchen Operations

    • Ensure timely preparation and service of meals.
    • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and cooking equipment.
    • Properly store food items in line with food safety standards.
    • Monitor food freshness and prevent wastage.

    Health, Safety & Hygiene

    • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and sanitation at all times.
    • Comply with company health and safety regulations.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.
    • Ensure safe handling of kitchen tools and appliances.

    Inventory & Support Duties

    • Assist in monitoring food supplies and reporting stock shortages.
    • Support stock-taking and proper storage of ingredients.
    • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and supervisors.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Minimum of SSCE; certification in Catering, Culinary Arts, or Hospitality Management is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience preparing both local and intercontinental meals.
    • Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
    • Ability to cook for large groups in a corporate or industrial environment.
    • Good time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet meal service schedules.
