Controls Systems Engineer at DexNova Consulting Limited

Our client is a dynamic and socially responsible technology company that specializes in delivering innovative digital solutions for optimizing operational workflows and facilitating informed decision-making.  

The company is looking for a Control System Engineer who will be responsible for developing/designing machines and process control systems and implementing the finished product as required by the customer.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and eliminate control systems issues and handle controls projects.
• Develop new control and monitoring systems conforming to ISA and CSI standards.
• Extend start up support and training for control and monitoring systems.
• Create and execute wireless communication systems for manufacturing.
• Conduct prestart up equipment walks to validate installation.
• Handle facilities equipment start up safely.
• Interface with equipment vendors and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve startup issues.
• Develop and document new PLC control systems from concept to qualification.
• Understand process control issues and develop control solutions to enhance process with Manufacturing Engineer.
• Frequent testing, modifying, and sustaining of existing systems.
• Conducting data analysis and presenting findings in a report.
• Communicate and support design specialists, process engineers, operation managers and suppliers.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders on costs, equipment, and concerns.
• Inspect control systems, assess technical risks, and implement health and safety regulations.
• Solve problems involving signal errors, operations, and automation.
• Apply knowledge of relevant network services.
• Troubleshoot problems with current PLC control systems.
• Reverse engineer current systems and programs for performing failure recovery.
• Maintain configuration control of current PLC source code.
• Offer controls engineering support to plant operations.
• Reply to downtime events impacting Production.
• Troubleshoot control systems wiring and PLC / SCADA logic.

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or its or equivalent in any discipline.
• Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Experience

• 5 years of experience Control System Engineer role.
• Experience in working within the Oil & Gas Sector will be considered an important advantage.
• Prior work experience showing increasing levels of responsibility with a focus on operations in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

 Remuneration: Between N9.6M and N12M gross per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
