    Construction Supervisor/Engineer

    Industry: Energy

    Location: Port Harcourt

    Our client, a leading business and technology service firm in the Energy industry is seeking to fill the role of a Construction Supervisor/Engineer to aid its quality project delivery.

    The role holder will supervise onshore and offshore fabrication, installation of systems and instrumentation, supervise construction/installation engineers, assess the estimated time and material costs for every project, complete quality assurance, and ensure the compliance of Health & Safety standards on-site at all times.

    The ideal candidate will also be responsible to oversee the performance of engineers, identifying systems’ problem(s), and providing feasible solutions to the problem(s) identified. Also, making recommendations for improvement, as well as preparation of progress report.

    Job Description:

    • Manage and supervise onshore/offshore fabrication, installation, and construction
    • Prepare required engineering deliverables including reports, designs, and drawings
    •  Manage structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
    • Ensure recognized offshore engineering practices applicable to Instrumentation & Control design engineering are adopted
    • Oversee team members’ work to deliver quality work and meet strict deadlines
    • Provide specialist technical support, supervision, and advice to the discipline and project teams
    • Develop Project Execution Plan (PEP) requirements and ensure its application (including the Engineering Plan)
    • Plan and oversee the different phases of the construction project
    • Checking and modifying plans and specifications for constructability, efficiency, and safety
    • Manage and supervise onshore/offshore fabrication, installation, and construction in line with best global practices
    • Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections
    • Maintain strict adherence to all company HSE and sustainable development policies and procedures
    • Oversee meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and other senior engineers

    Person Specification:

    • First Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field 
    • Minimum of 8 years work experience preferably with a Construction/Installation company and at least 2 - 4 years proven experience in instrumentation engineering projects.
    • Proven track record of diverse project handled preferably in major Oil and Gas Company
    •  Possess significant experience in vessel and oil platform-related activities with considerable experience related to marine and/or offshore construction.
    • Experience in the Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities related to Instrumentation and/or Electrical Equipment. 
    • Familiar with relevant international codes, standards, and recommended practices
