JOB SUMMARY
The job holder is responsible for planning construction projects and overseeing their progress in a timely and cost-effective manner. The job holder is also, responsible for budgeting, organizing, implementing and scheduling of the projects.
JOB PURPOSE
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
- Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with safety regulations
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
- Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
- Meet contractual conditions of performance
- Review the work progress on daily basis
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building codes, and other regulations
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out
- Any other responsibility of similar nature assigned by the project director

- Turnaround time
- Efficiency and effectiveness of vehicle and equipment service plan
- Budget compliance
- Number of downtimes
- Critical equipment availability
- A number of equipment breakdowns
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Qualification/Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Building/Construction management, architecture, or related field
- A minimum of 10 years work experience in similar role
- The ideal candidate should be resident in the East or willing to relocate
- Proven working experience in construction management
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skill
