We are an international industrial group serving companies in the oil and gas sector, is looking for a Site Construction Manager as part of an increase in activity.
We are offering you the opportunity to join us on fixed-term contract. The position is based in Nigeria.
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of grid-scale wind or solar projects.
This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in managing large-scale wind or solar construction projects.
The Construction Manager will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards:
Project Management: Lead and manage all aspects of construction from site preparation through commissioning.
Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all construction phases.
Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial objectives are met.
Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the efforts of the construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce strict quality control procedures to ensure all construction activities meet industry standards and project specifications.
Safety Management: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, local authorities, and community representatives.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, permits, and environmental guidelines.
Progress Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key milestones and any issues encountered.
Requirements
You have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management.
You have proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale renewable energy projects. Also in-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
You have a basic knowledge of piping, including fittings, flanges, joints, valves, structures, and an understanding of NDT.
You have strong leadership and team management skills, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. You have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
You are proficient in project management software and tools.
PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
