We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and direct construction and infrastructure projects from conception through to timely completion, ensuring value for money and exceptional customer satisfaction.
The role requires strict adherence to QA / QC standards, the achievement of zero accidents through robust HSE practices, and the effective deployment of risk management plans across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee multiple construction and infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
Develop and execute detailed construction plans, including critical path schedules, milestones, and deliverables, while establishing measurable benchmarks to track progress and address deviations.
Lead, coordinate, and supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and gangers; assess performance, allocate tasks, and maintain a database of competent trade specialists.
Manage construction budgets across all sites by minimizing material waste, controlling costs, reviewing estimates, and implementing measures to prevent overruns throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure efficient utilization and availability of equipment, tools, and materials; monitor inventory levels and track material usage across all construction sites.
Oversee facility maintenance activities within estates as required, ensuring timely execution and alignment with operational standards.
Provide accurate and timely reports on project progress, risks, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders, while staying updated on industry innovations, materials, and construction technologies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering or a related technical field from a recognized institution.
7 -10 years of experience in civil/building engineering, with a strong background in construction project.
Professional engineering certifications or licenses such as (e.g., COREN registered engineer or CORBON-registered builder) is highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in technical software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis tools (e.g., STAAD, Pro, Orion).
Strong knowledge of Nigerian building codes and health and safety regulations.
Proven leadership ability to inspire and direct diverse teams, delegate responsibilities effectively, and maintain a productive work environment.
