Company Secretary / Legal Adviser at Daily Trust

We are looking for a highly competent, motivated, and results-driven Company Secretary / Legal Adviser to join our leadership team. This is a senior role that combines corporate governance, legal advisory, and regulatory compliance in a dynamic media environment.

This is more than a legal role. It is a chance to be the guardian of good governance in a multimedia company that reaches millions of people daily.

As Company Secretary / Legal Adviser, you will:

• Provide governance and legal support to the Board of Directors.
• Ensure compliance with CAMA 2020, NBC Code, and other regulatory requirements.
• Draft and review contracts, agreements, and licensing deals.
• Coordinate Board meetings, AGMs, and EGMs.
• Liaise with regulators and external solicitors on behalf of the company.
• Advise management on legal risks, intellectual property, and digital compliance.

Requirements for the role.

• LLB/BL (Law degree and Bar qualification).
• Associate member of ICSAN.
• At least 10 to 15 years post-call experience, including 3 years at senior management/Company Secretary level.
• Strong knowledge of CAMA 2020, NBC regulations, and corporate governance codes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and legal drafting skills.
• Proven track record of integrity, leadership, and regulatory engagement.
• Experience in broadcasting, digital media, or content production (is an added advantage)
• Expertise in intellectual property and digital compliance (is an added advantage)
• Strong professional network with Nigerian regulatory agencies (is an added advantage)
