    Community Mobilizer, Health

    JOB SUMMARY  

    • The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for providing knowledge and awareness to the local community about health and hygiene, promote health and inform community members on available services, mobilize community members, and support implementation of community-based health project activities.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation:

    MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Community Mobilizers will provide awareness-raising sessions in their community/refugee/IDP locations covering topics such as prevention, sign and symptoms of common illnesses, health and hygiene promotion, provide information on available services (vaccination, ANC/PNC, FP... etc.), as well as disasters prevention and preparedness.
    • Conduct individual and group awareness sessions for men, women, adolescent boys, and girls at health facilities and through outreach activities at community schools, markets ...etc.
    • Actively participate in related community meetings and community major events.
    • The CMs will be connected to the nearest health facility for coordination, information, and referrals.
    • Collaborate with and support community health workers/volunteers and midwife activities in the catchment area, including health promotion, pregnancy related care and referrals, and distribution of supplies, vaccination activities in the community and vaccination campaigns.
    • Assist in the identification of active community volunteers for training to increase community capacity to provide first aid and properly handle and transport the injured.
    • Identify and report success stories, best practices, and lessons learned.
    • Monitor any disease trends and information of diseases in the community and report to IMC health senior focal point.
    • Provide assistance to field team in conducting awareness sessions, community mobilization, meetings, events, training, and assessment activities at field.
    • Support outreach activities and services through mobile health teams, crowd control and assist in patient registration where required.
    • Help the communities to develop a sense of ownership of the activities in and around their area and encourage self-reliance whenever possible.
    • Regularly coordinate with communities and act as a link between the community and organization in smooth implementation of projects.
    • Liaise and work with community groups and projects to ensure accountability and best use of project resources.
    • Facilitate the community to make them aware of the feedback mechanism and pass their complaints to the management through CBFRM in a transparent manner.
    • Act in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner towards the community.

    Job Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Typically, a university degree in any social sciences disciple from the Government recognized University or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
    • At least one year of experience in a similar position.
    • Good user of MS Office
    • Good writing and communication skills.
    • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, manage time and prioritize work to deadlines.
    • Demonstrated creativity, ability to apply innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Well-developed organization skills.
    • Able to work independently, with minimal supervision and under pressure.
    • Fluency in local and national language is must and ability to communicate in English.
