    Community Case Worker

    Main Task

    The Case Worker will be responsible for providing counselling, referrals and direct support and care for survivors of GBV/SGBV/DBV in Adamawa (Madagali, Michika, Mubi north & South). The Case Worker will be supervised by the GBV/MHPSS Officer to ensure qualitative and effective case documentations in-line with standard best practices.

    Program Responsibilities:

    • Conduct house to house awareness and sensitizations for individuals and households
    • Conduct referrals of survivors to health facilities for adequate provision of services.
    • Conduct household visits and center-based interviews to assess the needs of individuals and families. Provide information to individuals and families about their rights and entitlements, including what services are available
    • Assess risk of survivors and support individuals to understand risks relevant to their situation.
    • Directly provide psychosocial counseling and support the coordination of provision of services by other specialized service providers in accordance with the needs of individuals.
    • Ensure appropriate monitoring, review and follow up of the services provided to GBV/SGBV cases.
    • Ensure complete and updated documentation related to each individual case.
    • Determine if and when it is appropriate to discontinue follow up to individuals and families (case closure).
    • Support trainers during skill acquisition at the safe space
    • Monitor the active participation and management of survivors at the safe space

     Requirements:

    • Bachelor degree in social science, humanitarian or development studies or any other relevant fields.
    • An interdisciplinary mindset, the ability to cooperate and work in a team and willingness to take responsibilities.
    • English at proficiency level
    • Fluency in speaking local languages commonly used in the communities listed above.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills in writing and speaking
