The Communications Intern will support Smart Aid Initiative’s visibility, storytelling, and digital engagement efforts by translating programmes, research, and institutional activities into clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate content.
This role is essential to strengthening the organization’s public voice, digital presence, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop high-quality content for social media, newsletters, website updates, and other communication materials.
Support day-to-day social media management, including scheduling, publishing, and audience engagement.
Contribute to communication strategies around programmes, advocacy campaigns, events, and research outputs.
Draft official announcements, blog articles, feature stories, and press-related content aligned with the organization’s voice and values.
Maintain content calendars and track performance metrics to support continuous improvement in digital engagement.
Support activity documentation, reporting, photography coordination, and content archiving.
Ideal Academic Background: Mass Communication, English Language, Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Media, Public Relations Or other related social science disciplines
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants for all roles must:
Be a recent graduate in law, social sciences, communications, finance, international relations, or other related disciplines.
Demonstrate a strong interest in development work, education, community impact, and youth-focused programming.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office tools, own a laptop and be able to work in a fast-paced professional environment.
Be available for the full duration of the internship.
Reside in Kaduna or its environs.
Be available for in-person office work for two days.
Be willing to learn, take initiative, and contribute meaningfully within a team setting.
