    With origins as the innovator of technology that transformed the landscape of safe abortion around the world, Ipas has grown into a multidisciplinary global team dedicated to ensuring that women are able to act on the full spectrum of their sexual and reproductive rights.

    Summary

    Ipas Nigeria is seeking a consultant/firm to develop a project end documentation of stories of change, communication materials and briefs showcasing results and impact from a 24-month Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) intervention in Kano state, Nigeria. The project objective is to improve women and girl’s access to SRHR services in Kano state. Ipas Nigeria implementation strategy included health systems strengthening initiatives including capacity building of health care workers, site upgrades, renovations, and equipment donations; improving access and enabling environment by building capacity of CBOs to implement community interventions targeted at increasing awareness of key populations on SRH and improving attitude and perceptions towards SRHR and women’s access to SRHR services. Ipas Nigeria also exposed key government stakeholders and officials to our VCAT methodology to improve support for SRHR, advocacy and coalition building for the domestication of the VAPP act in Kano state.  The consultant will be required to travel to Kano state as necessary if not already based in Kano.

    Objective

    The objective of the consultancy is to develop end of project dissemination materials showcasing landmark project achievements/impact, key lessons learned and recommendations for future programming. The dissemination materials will include project briefs using infographics, video documentary of success stories and high-quality process pictures as applicable. The consultancy scope of work would include:

    • Develop a methodology to deliver the consultancy objective
    • Develop relevant tools for documentation of information that will be used for final product development
    • Conduct series of interviews (KIIs, IDIs, FGDs, etc) with identified respondents (Ipas staff, government officials including service providers, CBOs, community gatekeepers, project beneficiaries)
    • Work with relevant Ipas staff to develop an implementation work plan, identify list of respondents, schedule & conduct interviews
    • Develop appropriate communication materials and products for dissemination as indicated in the consultancy objective above
    • Document project success stories and publication worthy highlights from the project implementation
    • Design and develop project briefs compiling results and stories of change from different implementation areas of the project
    • Work with CBOs to develop publication worthy personal stories of community engagement beneficiaries and showcasing the successes recorded in the CBOs intervention.

    Deadline and Submission of expression of interest:

    Ipas invites interested individuals/firms with competence to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) on or before CoB, 18th March, 2021. The EoI should clearly articulate:

    • The methodology that would be employed to deliver the objectives highlighted above.
    • Capability statement of not more than 750 words
    • Brief description of experience delivering similar tasks in a similar setting (Northern Nigeria) and clients (2 -3) for whom it was conducted especially National/International NGOs
    • Profile brief of key personnel that will be involved in implementation of this consultancy and their roles
    • A draft activity work-plan, required days, proposed rate and design intentions.
    • Indicative budget breakdown and budget notes (clearly linked with the work plan)
    • Evidence of excellent communication, writing and organizational skills

    Deliverables

    • Dissemination materials highlighting key successes, stories of change and lessons learned
    • A publication ready project brief with project results, highlights, stories of change and impact and relevant key person interviews and statements.
    • A video documentary about the intervention results and highlights.
    • Contribute relevant content to a project end dissemination power point presentation
    • A final narrative report of the engagement.

    Terms of Payment

    • Rate and timeline to be negotiated
    • Ipas will cover all related travel expenses to project site during the period of the consultancy (in line with Ipas travel policy & rates).
