    Communications and Digital Officer

    Job Responsibilities

    • Working alongside the Communication Coordinator in developing, supporting, and promoting the organisation’s communications, PR, and digital media strategy across traditional and online media platforms, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach to capture the organisation’s impact and national movement
    • Assist in developing and disseminating public relations materials that increase our visibility among stakeholders and lawmakers
    • Assist in press strategy and outreach, working to maintain and expand the organisation’s press relationships
    • Draft statements, talking points, blog posts, op-eds, speeches and press releases; respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the organization.
    • Writing, editing, and posting new web content on the official website www.ceceyara.org and other platforms
    • Provide support on reporting communications metrics and KPIs
    • Work closely with Communications Associates to coordinate the organisation’s Community storytelling priorities
    • Attend and assist in covering and coordinating publicity and other live events as applicable and manage Communications Interns
    • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, investors, and community audiences that will help advance our work
    • Ensure digital marketing content aligns with our brand’s identity and message, and assist with marketing campaigns as needed

    Requirements

    • B.Sc./HND in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations, International Relations or related field
    • 3-5 years’ experience in communications and digital media, in publishing or media outlet, at a PR agency, or NGO setting
    • Excellent writing skills — experience writing and editing op-eds, blogs, press releases, and editorial content for a brand or an organization
    • Strong media relations background and experience working with press
    • Experience maintaining and managing organizational social networking accounts
    • An eye for design and proficiency in creating visual content
