Civil Engineer (Highway Geometric Design) at Tempkers Limited

Job Responsibilities:

• Design construction projects by studying project concepts, and models.
• Undertakes technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blue prints, aerial photography, and other topography or geologic data to plan projects.
• Using a range of computer software for developing detailed designs.
• Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Be familiar with Federal, State, and Local legal requirements by studying existing and new technical manual/document/legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs and managing budgets and project resources.
• Assesses the sustainability and environmental impact of projects.
• Ensures projects run smoothly and assignments are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Liaises with clients and a variety of professionals.
• Compiles job specs and supervising tendering procedures.
• Resolves design and development problems.
• Prepares engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
• Maintains operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements

• B.Eng / B.Sc / MEng in Civil Engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of highway/structural design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar. (This is very important and will be thoroughly assessed).
• Ability to read, interpret and make use of various maps such as topo etc., and other survey data.
• COREN certificate is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years Proven working experience in Civil Engineering Designs.
• Project management and supervision skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• License of a professional engineer.
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
