SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this role is to lead and direct the financial responsibilities of the company. The CFO owns the responsibility for managing financial sustainability, driving financial performance & maximizing return on investment. The CFO will provide strategic financial advice to the Managing Director and Board of Directors and play a pivotal role in formulating future financial strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the company stakeholders on financial matters and maintain a strong working relationship with its bankers and other funding organizations.
• Oversee long-term budgetary planning, forecasting and cost management in alignment with the operating companies’ strategic plan.
• Ensure financial objectives are aligned across the respective companies.
• Cascade financial strategies into an effective business plan for all the operating companies and ensure maximum alignment between organizational objectives and operating companies’ activities.
• Lead the continual improvement of smarter information systems, provision of centralized information, increased financial and operational KPI information and trend analysis and benchmarking of the company performance against agreed measures.
• Defines the liquidity strategy, which outlines how liquidity challenges will be handled and reviews this annually.
• Reviews cash flow position for the ending period. Reviews ledger and income statements to assess the organization’s liquidity position.
• Ensuring that the business's financial risk and exposure is prudently managed, including management of tax liabilities.
• Evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure and make recommendations to Senior Management and the Board
• Ensure that the company always has a rich pipeline of assets and projects ready for investment.
• Manage all finance functions with full authority over the treasury, tax, statutory and management accounting, financial accounts, financial control, and internal and external reporting.

REQUIREMENTS

• First degree in Accounting with 10+ years of relevant experience and at least 5 years in a Finance senior management role
• Professional Membership of ACCA/ICAN is required
• Professional Membership in CFA is desirable
• Possession of a postgraduate degree in Accounting/Business Administration or a related field is an added advantage
