This role is responsible for providing leadership to the finance function of the company to ensure adequate and accurate financial reporting of company's activities.
Detailed Duties & Responsibilities
Provide leadership in the formulation and implementation of the company's financial strategies.
Formulate and implement a sound accounting system for the company.
Examine and test internal control system to ensure effectiveness and recommend changes as appropriate.
Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place for the operational, financial, regulatory and risk management, of all financial related activities. Assume primary responsibility for the adherence of the Financial Control team to all internal policies, regulations and requirements.
Prepare monthly performance report and variance analysis to support management decision making.
Examine financial reports and performances and advice relevant business units.
Prepare annual financial statements and reports.
Collate, prepare and present annual budget for management approval and monitor the budget.
Prepare income tax returns from accounting records and ensure prompt payment of various taxes in accordance with tax laws. Liaise with tax authorities to ensure compliance.
Liaise with external auditors to ensure statutory audit of the company’s financial statement and meet agreed deadlines with the auditors.
Attend investment committee meetings and support the committee on best alternative investment options.
Other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline from an accredited university.
Professional qualification in Accounting such as CFA, ICAN, ACCA
At least 12 - 15 years of work experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of business and financial plans, financial forecasting and projections.
Established reputation and track record of performance and innovations
Proven intellectual leadership in managing and maintaining an efficient and transparent environment in a finance organization.
