Chief Finance Officer at Catilas Resources Limited

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and executing the organization’s financial strategy as well as instituting strong risk management throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of annual corporate budgets and medium-term strategic business plan.
• Manage Budget Monitoring and Periodic Variance Analysis with a view to advise Management on Measures for improvement.
• Anchor Performance Management Functions and ensure a Performance Driven Environment both for all employees and the Bank.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts with all relevant schedules and ratio analysis
• Ensure Bank and other Accounts Reconciliations are done timely.
• Preparation and timely submission of statutory returns to regulatory authorities including CBN, NDIC, CAC etc.
• Preparation of periodic cash flow statements and use it to advise management on business decisions.
• General ledger management.
• Manage the company’s banking relationships & insurances for maximum beneficial efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and guidelines.
• Coordinate monthly performance review (MPR) sessions.
• Co-ordinate Assets & Liabilities Committee (ALCO) meetings.
• Develop and implement approved policy on cost & control & monitor costs to ensure they are within approved budget.
• Monitor the company’s tax filings to avert exposure to the risk of fines and penalties.
• Liaise regularly with the company’s external auditors, tax consultants and others.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with company’s financial and credit policies, standards, rules and regulations.
• Advise management on latest financial reporting requirements, including on IFRS compliance.
• Develop job description for all finance team members & assess their performance periodically.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, master's degree, or MBA an added advantage.
• Relevant Professional Qualifications – ACA, ACCA, MCIB (Microfinance Practitioner Certification)
• Prior experience in a senior management position with MFBs or related Institutions.
• Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
• Experience with corporate governance.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Experience with budget management, financial analysis, and cash flow.
• Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
• Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.
