The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for shaping and executing the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring the successful transition from asset acquisition to full-scale production. This role demands a seasoned leader with deep expertise in upstream oil and gas operations, capable of driving value creation across technical, commercial, and stakeholder dimensions.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the company’s strategy, ensuring alignment with stakeholder interests and regulatory requirements.
Oversee full-cycle E&P operations from appraisal through production and monetisation of reserves.
Build, lead, and retain a high-performing management team and ensure proper organisational structure.
Represent the company to shareholders, regulatory bodies, partners, host communities, and investors.
Ensure strong HSE culture and compliance across the organisation.
Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and sustainable profitability.
Champion innovation, digital transformation, and energy transition initiatives.
Provide strategic leadership in capital allocation, investment planning, and financial performance management.
Ensure robust corporate governance, risk management, and compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities, including asset acquisitions, partnerships, and new ventures.
Integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the company’s core strategy and operations
Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Requirements
A minimum of 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with at least 5 years in executive leadership.
Advanced degree in related discipline. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of the Nigerian upstream sector, Production Sharing Contract/Joint Venture, and regulatory environment.
A dynamic leader with a proven track record in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, particularly in the upstream sector and has successfully led assets from development through to production.
Leadership experience across technical, commercial, and operational functions.
