Job Summary

• The Chief engineer oversees all engineering operations for our Sugar manufacturing factory and its associated plantation.
• This role involves managing the maintenance, operation and optimization of mechanical, electrical, and processing equipment to ensure effecient and continuous production. 

Key Responsibilities

• Chief Engineer is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Engineering Department and proper maintenance of vessels, plant and equipment
• He/She is responsible for sustaining operational standards including planning, maintenance/repair of all mechanical and electrical equipments.
• Lead a team of Engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with sefaty and environmental standards, and cordinating with other departments such as production, agriculture and logistics,
• The responsibility of the Chief Engineer is to administer the Planned Maintenance System. The Chief Engineer shall administer the SMS budget including purchasing and ensure budgetary control is maintained by all departments.
• The Chief Engineer is responsible for all fixed and portable fire-fighting equipments.
• Their responsibilities also include the planning and logging of working hours for the engine room crew and the organization of the on-board safety training programmer for emergencies in close cooperation with the Chief Officer and the Safety Officer.
• The Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of technical operation records/files and for keeping a sufficient stock of bunkers and lubricants as well as ordering according to Company Procedures.
• The Chief Engineer's responsibilities also include the evaluation of reported nonconformity, necessary corrective actions and verifications, as required by OOS International’s Integrated Management System, in cooperation with the Master/ OIM.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• A minimum of B-Tech / BE / BSc / Master’s Degree in Mechanical or any related Engineering field
• COREN, NSE or Any related professional qualification is an added advantage
• A minimum of 15-year experience in any Engineering project
• Effective Communication skills
