The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organisation operates within legal and regulatory boundaries, while maintaining high ethical standards.
He/She will provide strategic leadership for the compliance function, develop and implement compliance policies, conduct risk assessments, and foster a culture of compliance.
The Ideal Candidate must have:
A bachelor's degree in law, business administration, finance, or related field
An MBA or relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage
Professional membership with a relevant body or institution
Minimum of 12 years’ experience in financial services, 5 of which must be in a senior leadership role
Strong understanding of relevant laws and industry regulations/standards
Proven expertise in developing and implementing effective compliance programmes/policies as well as executing strategies to mitigate compliance risks
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and educate others on compliance matters
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Extensive experience in coordinating and participating in external compliance audits and reviews
