The Program / Department / Team (Program / Department Summary)
Mercy Corps has been present in Nigeria since 2012, focusing its interventions on humanitarian assistance, economic development, and conflict mitigation. With the ongoing insurgency in Northeast Nigeria causing the displacement of millions of individuals, Mercy Corps started its humanitarian response in 2014 to address the rising humanitarian needs.
As the crisis has persisted, Mercy Corps’ strategy has also expanded to address the root causes of the conflict and seek to build the long-term resilience of communities with integrated programs focusing on governance, the recovery of markets and livelihoods, social cohesion and social protection, youth empowerment, and local conflict management.
The cash Transfer Programming (CTP) Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in the implementation of CTP activities in the intervention community of Damboa in Southern Borno State.
With support from the program officer – Cash & Voucher He/she will assist the program Officer to supervise all project selection and planning project assets, Local Government and Community liaison work, monitoring and payment.
The CTP program assistant will report to the cash and Voucher Program Officer and work collaboratively with fellow programs and MEAL staff.

The program assistant will assist the program teams in the day-to-day implementation of all Cash Transfer in the area of intervention

Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions
The position is based in Damboa LGA, Borno State, Nigeria, this is a relatively insecure location where freedom of movement is limited and areas where amenities are limited.
