Business Intelligence Analyst at Smile Communications

Role Summary

• Works in an analysis and development role on the BI reporting team in a MicroStrategy environment.
• Candidate will be responsible for adhock reporting, assisting business to perform what-if analysis. Provide data extracts and analysis on reports.
• Data mining and investigation and chasing data issues on a daily basis
• Candidate would also be assisting business in filling data requirements and putting across the requirements to the development team

Key Responsibilities

• Consulting with internal customers (e.g., Marketing, Finance, Customer Service) to develop analyses that lead to actionable insights that accelerate profitable growth
• Wrangling data from multiple sources including sales, finance inventory, product, and customer databases to create integrated views that can be used to drive decision-making using data warehouse
• Working with several large and complex SQL databases and adhock files
• Designing and building reports and analyses in MicroStrategy & and integrated office
• Perform Adhock Reporting and Analysis
• Co-ordinate source systems, ETL Developers, and business customers to develop specification
• Develop standard reports and functional dashboards
• Maintain business intelligence semantic models used for reporting
• Determine business intelligence and data warehousing solutions to meet business needs
• Deliver quality reports to business customers accurately and in a timely fashion
• Perform quality assurance checks on existing and new reports and dashboards
• Assist business customers to be able to interpret and utilize data
• Documentation and maintenance of business rules
• Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for business users and peers
• Provide after-hours standby support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or work experience
• Min 3-5 years IT experience.
• Min 3 years solid experience in a SQL environment.
• Good understanding of BI.
• BI reporting tool exposure is a must, particularly MicroStrategy.
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Good communication skills, including ability to interact with client at a senior level.
• Systems analysis and design.
• Sound knowledge of MS office products – in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
