    Business Development Officer

    Location: Surulere, Lagos

    Job Description

    • To build business position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business opportunities within assigned territory for a Medical Diagnostics Company located in Surulere.

    Responsibilities

    • Source and convert corporate institutions (HMOs, Hospitals etc) to clients.
    • Conduct market research and identify opportunities / potential clients.
    • Identify and define market opportunities aimed at positioning the Company to gain competitive advantage.
    • Monitor developments and trends in the business environment, especially target sectors, analyzing impact on Company activities and develop appropriate response strategies.
    • Screen and close potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, coordinating deal requirements, potential, and financials, evaluating options; resolving internal priorities.
    • Establish regular liaison with clients and core business operations teams in driving improvements and opportunities for increasing revenue.
    • Develop superior relationships with key stakeholders in the identified organizations and ensure that any concerns are highlighted in a timely manner.
    • Develop and implement innovative strategies for client retention.
    • Establish a knowledge storehouse of clients, referrals, REPs, presentations, and prospects.

    Education and Experience

    • Minimum of a First Degree in Marketing, Economics or any related discipline.
    • 2 - 3 years relevant experience in a related role. Experience in the Healthcare industry is an advantage.
    • Experience with business to business and business to consumer sales techniques.
    • Ability to initiate and generate new leads.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Quick decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Outstanding negotiating skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
    • Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.
    • Weekend work is required.
