    Business Development Manager

    Our client is an independent oil servicing company with vast experience which cuts across several facets of the oil and gas industry, together with affiliations with a number of reputable multinational companies. They now have an opening for a Business Development Manager from the upstream Oil and Gas sector to be based in Lagos, Nigeria and are in need of an experienced and resourceful Business Development Manager to develop and implement growth opportunities in existing and new markets.

    The ideal professional should be one that has a solid track record of creating long-term value for organizations by meeting and exceeding targets and should understand how to leverage real data and capitalize on business trends and opportunities. He/She should have excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team in an evolving industry landscape to ensure that company’s business targets are met and ensure that Business Development Processes are followed and unit goals are met.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborating with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting; maintaining short- and long-term business development plans and strategies.
    • Foster a collaborative environment within the organization.
    • Prospect for and acquire new and financially viable high volume customers.
    • Effectively manage each customer account to ensure sales targets are fully achieved.
    • Collate and communicate business intelligence.
    • Preparing reports for the monthly management meeting.
    • Represent the Managing Director at meetings as delegated.
    • Identify and recommend as most appropriate, technical assistance for key customers
    • Collate client-specific intelligence and map out ways of relating to them.
    • Ensure that profiles are built for our customers by identifying immediate and long term goals.
    • Exhibit sound knowledge of the company’s business strategy.
    • Exploit opportunities to sell the company’s services/products.
    • Meet sales targets.
    • Ensure full payment for all supplies and services.
    • Define strategy for relating with each customer group and create a Customer Relationship Plan per group
    • Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospective clients; maintaining a database of prospective client information.
    • Creating informative presentations; presenting and delivering information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, and conferences.
    • Foster a collaborative environment within the organization.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas Service doing business development/sales.
    • Super contacts in the IOCs, EPCs, and E&P companies.
    • In-depth understanding of Business Development/Technical Sales in the Upstream subsector of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
    • Analytical skills to define and solve problems.
    • Excellent relationship management skills.
    • Excellent intelligence gathering skills.
    • Good documentation skills.
    • Proven tenders preparation knowledge.
