Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Engineer to oversee building construction, maintenance, and renovation projects.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all building works are executed according to approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise building construction works on-site to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with approved drawings.
• Coordinate and monitor artisans, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Ensure that the materials used meet the required standards and specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identify construction defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Support maintenance, renovation, and facility management activities.
• Liaise with consultants, engineers, and regulatory authorities as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Building Technology, Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of practical experience in building construction and site supervision.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and team coordination abilities.
• Added Advantage
• Membership or certification with a professional body (e.g., NIOB, COREN – where applicable).
• Experience working on residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
• Knowledge of construction cost control and project scheduling.
