    Building Engineer (MEP)

    • The MEP Engineer will work closely with the project management and construction teams to ensure mechanical systems are designed, installed, tested, and delivered in accordance with regulatory standards, timelines, and client specifications.

    Roles/Responsibilities

    Project Execution & Supervision

    • Oversee the planning, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) across multiple building projects.
    • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide site implementation activities.
    • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure seamless MEP integration.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being executed according to approved plans and best practices.
    • Monitor project schedules and report progress to the Project Manager, flagging delays or technical issues promptly.

    Design & Technical Oversight

    • Review mechanical designs and shop drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
    • Collaborate with consultants and design teams to propose modifications or improvements where required.
    • Ensure that mechanical systems comply with all local codes, standards, and client requirements.

    Quality, Safety & Compliance

    • Enforce strict quality control measures on all MEP mechanical work.
    • Ensure compliance with all site safety protocols and mechanical safety regulations.
    • Assist in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and document performance.

    Coordination & Communication

    • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
    • Participate in coordination meetings and provide regular updates to the Head of Engineering or Project Director.
    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, tests, and inspections.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical building services engineering, preferably on medium to large-scale construction projects.
    • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in building services.
    • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other design or project coordination software.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Willingness to travel to project locations as required.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
