    Branch Manager (Retail Store)

    Qualification: B.Sc/HND/MBA/MSc/MA

    CITY: V/I

    Our Client is a Multinational from the Sales and Retail industry who is looking to recruit experienced persons for the position of a Branch Manager 

    Purpose: Manages processes and procedures to ensure store operational standards to maximize profit and deliver excellent customer service.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Merchandising Management

    Main tasks:

    • Plans, directs, controls and evaluates merchandising activities
    • Ensures that regular quality checks are conducted on merchandise
    • Ensures that merchandising standards are implemented and maintained
    • Ensures that hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards are maintained
    • Manages inventory and ensures optimal stock levels 
    • Maintains an ongoing awareness of competitive activity in the immediate marketing area
    • Analyses category performance across a variety of indicators e.g. sales gross profit, market share
    • Ensures that category management standards are maintained
    • Conducts daily mule train
    • Monitors implementation of In store signage discipline

    Customer Service Management

    • Listens, confirms and responds to customer request for products and services
    • Ensures the effective implementation of customer service standards
    • Monitors customer service levels and standards in the store
    • Deals with escalated unresolved customer complaints
    • Supports social responsibility initiatives

    Sales Promotion Management

    • Provides feedback on the success of all promotional activities
    • Ensures promotional activities are implemented in store
    • Monitors the implementation of promotional activities for the duration of the promotion

    Finance and Administration

    • Ensures actions plans to reduce excessive wastage are implemented and maintained
    • Conducts regular meeting with Departmental Management teams
    • Monitors budgets relating to sales, gross profit, net profit and expenses
    • Ensures compliance to operational legislation
    • Ensures adherence to finance and administration policies and procedures
    • Manages stock to achieve targeted gross margins
    • Develops staff roster to meet business needs
    • Prepares store for stocktake
    • Ensures daily price changes actioned

    People Management and Development

    • Ensures effective management of employees
    • Initiates disciplinary enquiries in accordance with disciplinary procedure
    • Ensures that employee grievances are processed in accordance with the provisions of the Grievance Procedure
    • Monitors the performance of subordinates against agreed objectives and standards
    • Conducts onthejob training for departmental staff in store
    • Reviews staffing requirements
    • Manages and motivates team to meet profit objectives and operational efficiencies
    • Ensures the human resources policies, procedures and practices are effectively implemented and labour legislation compliance

    Operations and Maintenance Management

    • Ensures that all equipment is maintained in effective working order
    • Ensures that all general maintenance contractors provide agreed services
    • Ensures general maintenance standards are met

    Shrinkage and Security

    • Ensures all security systems are fully operational
    • Manages the implementation of shrinkage control measures
    • Implements shrinkage plan
    • Adheres to end of day procedures and pre closing checks

    Salary : The Range of N600,000 to N700,000
