Branch Manager - Abia at Alert Microfinance Bank

Role Description

• This is a full‑time, on‑site Branch Manager role based in Aba.
• The Branch Manager will oversee day‑to‑day branch operations, including supervising staff, managing customer service, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Responsibilities include driving business growth through customer acquisition and retention, monitoring loan and deposit portfolios, and implementing strategies to meet branch performance targets.
• The role also involves reviewing and approving transactions within delegated authority, preparing regular reports on branch activities, and coordinating marketing and community outreach initiatives.
• The Branch Manager will collaborate with senior management to improve processes, manage risk, and maintain a positive, compliant, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, performance coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Branch operations and risk management capabilities, covering cash management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Business development and relationship management skills, with experience in customer engagement, SME lending, and portfolio growth.
• Financial analysis and reporting abilities, including monitoring branch performance metrics and preparing management reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in presenting information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications in banking or microfinance are an advantage.
• Prior experience in microfinance, banking, or financial services, ideally in a supervisory or branch management position.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Comfort with using banking or microfinance software and basic office productivity tools.
