We are currently recruiting for an organized and detail-oriented Branch Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be the guardian of financial integrity at the branch level.
You will be responsible for driving all accounting functions, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and issue daily floats to cashiers; ensure the safe handling and timely bank lodgment of all cash.
Reconcile cash and POS transactions daily, balancing tills and investigating any discrepancies.
Vet and verify invoices for accuracy prior to posting on the ERP system.
Respond to and resolve POS disputes from customers efficiently.
Prepare monthly shortage reports and write off transferred stock between departments.
Ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to; perform bank reconciliations to keep records accurate.
Post branch revenue and transactions into the appropriate journals on the ERP system.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of B.Sc./ HND in Accountancy or related fields
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar role
Must have NYSC Discharged, Exemption or Exclusion letter
ICAN Certification is an added advantage
Proven experience in accounting or cash management role.
Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and internal controls.
Proficiency in using ERP software is highly desirable.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to handle cash securely and responsibly.
Excellent problem-solving skills regarding POS and transactional disputes.
