Bookkeeper and Accountant at Design Synchrony

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper and Accountant to join our team.
• This role will be responsible for managing financial records, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of bookkeeping practices, accounting principles, and is comfortable working with accounting software and financial tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
• Manage payroll, including calculating employee wages, deductions, and tax filings
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, preparing and filing tax returns as needed
• Monitor cash flow and report on the financial health of the business
• Assist in preparing for audits and liaising with external auditors when required
• Manage expense tracking and reimbursement processes
• Provide support in improving financial processes and implementing accounting policies
• Collaborate with management to review financial goals and implement cost-saving strategies

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in accounting software (Zoho Books)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Bookkeeper certification is a plus
• Experience with payroll processing and tax filings
• Familiarity with e-commerce accounting and inventory management
• Experience with financial audits and working with external auditors
• Knowledge of international accounting standards and multi-currency transactions
