Basic Safety Officers at Taela HR Advisory

TaelaHR is recruiting Basic Safety Officers on behalf of a client for project-based assignments across Lagos, Abuja and Enugu.

Successful candidates will support the implementation of workplace health and safety procedures, promote safe work practices, identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with applicable safety standards throughout the project duration.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project sites to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Identify workplace hazards and report unsafe acts or conditions.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and support risk assessments.
• Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety awareness briefings.
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses promptly.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports and other relevant documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness and incident response procedures.
• Ensure workers adhere to established safety rules and project requirements.

Requirements

• OND, HND or BSc in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant basic safety training or certification will be an added advantage.
• Previous experience in site safety, construction, industrial operations or a related project environment is desirable.
• Good knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
• Strong observation, communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and follow safety procedures.
• Willingness to work on a project-based assignment in Lagos, Abuja or Enugu.

Compensation

₦180,000 – ₦200,000 monthly, depending on qualifications and experience.
