Job Summary

• To increase Guest satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt trouble free and courteous service to guests in the hotel bar area. The job incumbent operates in line with hotel’s corporate policies, guidelines, and business plan.
• Literacy: Must be able to read and write in order to read stock sheets, wine lists, cocktail lists, order dockets as well as compile stock reports and write out stock requisitions.
• Numeracy: Must be able to do a basic accounting and mathematical calculations to deal with Food & Beverage stock items, cutlery, crockery, linen items, etc and to deal with Guest bills and receive payment.
• Language: Must be able to communicate verbally in English for the purposes of communicating with Guests and Management.
• Physical: Must be able to perform physical dexterous tasks such as operating a cash register and operating bar equipment as well as being physically able to lift heavy items such as crates of beverages. Must be able to remain on his/her feet for lengthy periods of time.
• Competency: The employee should have prior work experience in specified designation. The employee must be competent in operating a computer and entering data on a keyboard.

Responsibilities

• The job incumbent dispenses liquor and/ or beverages, mixes cocktails or serves food in service areas as designated by Management, whilst maintaining a high standard of Guest service and courtesy
• Serves bar Guests their orders promptly and courteously
• Accurately records Guest orders and serves beverage orders
• Insures proper garnishing of drinks
• Checks periodically with Guests to see if they would like anything else
• Informs Guests of last call
• Processes Guest checks accurately
• Arranges furniture in the bar area as needed
• Ensures that the working area and station is stocked with “mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all times
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the bar menu, wine and beer list, and content of drinks to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly.

Requirements

•  Interested candidates should possess an OND / HND / B.Sc Degree with 1 - 5 years work experience.

Salary
N50,000 - N70,000 per month.
